Structural Steel Fabricator

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Steel Fabricator to join our great team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabrication of parts, assemblies, multi assemblies and various components on construction projects.

Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Structural Steel Fabricator (minimum 5 years)
• Relevant trade qualifications (e.g., NZ Certificate in Welding)
• Strong welding skills in various techniques (e.g., FCAW, GMAW, MMAW, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints accurately
• Experience with a variety of fabrication equipment and tools
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong safety awareness and commitment to safe work practices
• Physically fit and able to perform demanding physical labour
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
• Must pass Drug & alcohol testing.
• Must hold rights (current work visa) to work in NZ.

Key Responsibilities:
• Fabricate steel components such as beams, columns, plates, and other structural elements using various welding techniques (e.g., FCAW, GMAW, MMAW, etc.)
• Operate and maintain fabrication equipment such as cutting machines (e.g., band saw, oxy-LPG cutter), drilling machines, and grinders
• Read and interpret shop drawings and cut lists accurately
• Conduct quality checks on fabricated components
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures
• Participate in pre-start meetings and toolbox talks
• Other duties as assigned
